Each series lasted one week
and enabled the next generation of psychologists in Romania to learn
more about music therapy as a clinical intervention.
However, it was not only
professional music therapists that contributed to these
lectures. Romanian partners who had received introductory
training projects from Music as Therapy and were
continuing to develop their music programmes, also attended.
They not only had the opportunity to consolidate their
understanding of the theory behind the music work they were
practising, but also played an important part in the lectures
themselves. One day's lectures were set aside for our
Romanian partners to present their work to the students and to
open the discussion about how Romania's own model of music
therapy is currently developing.
More recently we have also been trying
to explore links with Vocational and other informal/non-formal
training providers which are developing courses relating to arts
therapies in Romania. This
might be with a view to developing professional training at a
Post-Graduate level, looking to broaden the curricula available to
students on existing courses or looking at accessible vocational
training for people already working. Please send us an
e-mail
if you would be interested to collaborate in any of these fields. |
