Schools' Link

Music as Therapy is actively involved in a variety of collaborations with Schools, which come under the umbrella of our Schools' Link programme.  We are particularly grateful to The Anglo-Romanian Educational Trust for helping us to implement this area of our work.

If you know a school holding a concert or looking for a charity to support over the coming year, do get in touch.  We are always excited to form new partnerships and to talk to students of all ages about our work in Romania, about Music Therapy as a possible career, to organise musical competitions to suit all ages and to hold interactive musical workshops - where students can experience for themselves the ways in which music can be used to facilitate communication in a different way.

Leading figures in the classical music industry support us by donating copies of their recordings and so we are fortunate to be able to supply good quality musical prizes for students or incentives to music departments in exchange for a school's support.

We appreciate the school calendar is always jam packed and so we are determined to work as hard as the students and staff at our partnerships.  Let us know what we can do in exchange for your support.

Send us an e-mail or telephone Jane Robbie (020 7735 3231)
if you'd like to talk about the Schools' Link

In the past Schools have been involved in a variety of ways, including:-

St. Catherine's School, Bramley generously donated the collection from their Christmas Carol Concert towards our projects in Romania

...as did Croydon High School, who then developed their relationship with us through presentations and further fundraising.
St. Peter’s Primary School, Essex enjoyed musical workshops before the pupils undertook sponsored activities with a musical theme.

Alleyn's School, Dulwich welcomed Music as Therapy representatives to address the school assembly, before raising money through an Own Clothes Day and a fantastic concert
Thomas' School Choral Society and Harrow School also chose Music as Therapy to be the beneficiary of musical events held by the students.

Wycombe Abbey, St. Catherine's, Bramley, Cobham Hall, Croydon High School, Bromley High School, St. Mary's Ascot, Lady Eleanor Holles, all took part in our Schools Music Competitions with prizes including Grove Dictionary of Music publications and Compact Discs
Malvern College and Downe House School both invited Music as Therapy representatives to talk to students about our work and then fundraised on our behalf.

Our thanks to all the schools and their students for their willingness to help Romania's children and young adults by supporting Music as Therapy.
